In March 2023, Hospice & Community Care launched the Choices Palliative & Supportive Care at Home program. Dr. Debra Vermette, Vice President, Chief Medial Officer, at Hospice & Community Care, will share our efforts to offer specialized home-based medical care for people living with serious illness.
You will also learn about the importance of having palliative care in our community from Diane E. Meier, MD. Dr. Meier is internationally known in the field of palliative medicine as the immediate past CEO of the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC.org), a national organization devoted to increasing access to quality palliative care for people living with a serious illness. Under Dr. Meier’s leadership, the number of palliative care programs in U.S. hospitals has more than tripled in the last ten years.
